Drone Piloting Perspectives: LOS vs FPV

Drones can be piloted from two main perspectives: Line-of-Sight (LOS), or First-Person-View (FPV). Flying the aircraft using the LOS perspective means that the pilot is directly observing it, while in the FPV perspective, the pilot controls the aircraft from the viewpoint of a drone- mounted camera. The abilities required to operate the aircraft and the difficulties involved are distinct for each perspective. Therefore, a pilot must be proficient in both perspectives and capable of switching between them during flight.
Since this course is focused on FPV racing drones, we will focus on learning to pilot drones from the FPV perspective. The next simulated flight exercises will teach you to fly a drone through the FPV perspective, using Position Hold flight mode, preparing you to fly your custom FPV drone later in the course.
